The Artist

Christine Sweet, a Charleston based watercolor artist, is best known for her winsome, modern renderings of coastal creatures -- The Great Blue Heron and Oysters specifically -- but also enjoys expressing her love of form and motherhood through abstract line work.  She aims to infuse a sense of realism and unique artistic whimsy through choice color and brushwork.

Born and raised in Coastal Virginia, she has always been creating something.  Artistically, she is inspired by the natural beauty found along the Atlantic.  After years of living in various places, she and her husband decided to make Charleston, SC their forever home after falling in love with  its historic charm and natural beauty.

Christine paints out of her Mount Pleasant home, which she shares with her first ever boyfriend (and husband since 2001), three cutie kids Jersey, Zion and Jackson and her fluffy fur-child Lucy Belle. When she isn’t painting, Christine can be found decorating, redecorating,  hanging with her hubby and kids, or simply just enjoying home
