Great Blue Herons are my first and forever love. I'll never not paint them. Painting marsh life helped me feel connected and at home here in Charleston, and these birds have become part of that feeling.

Watchful is one of my quieter herons, standing still with his neck drawn in and those wispy head feathers lifting off the top, the way they do when the marsh goes still. I deepened his blue-grey feathers into inky blues and dark washes, a little liberty with his natural colors.

Colors: inky blue, slate grey, soft white and olive gold.

This is an authenticated, archival Fine Art Print of my original watercolor, on heavy-weight archival paper with a texture that closely resembles the original. Each print includes my signature. Prints are made to order, so please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to arrive. Available unframed in 5x7, 8x10, 11x14 and 16x20 inches.
